I have been doing a deep dive on zone offense concepts that teams use versus the zone. I have been looking at how teams specifically have been attacking the zone defenses from:
Jim Boeheim - Syracuse
Joe Gallo - Merrimack University
These two programs use zone over 90 percent of the time versus their opponents.
According to Synergy, these college men’s programs played zone defenses in 1000 or more possesions in college basketball during the 2020-2021 season.
Sunday Night 5/16 at 9 pm EST I am doing a Free Virtual Zoom Clinic
Zone Concepts to attack any zone defense.
Some of the topics I will be covering:
Alignments to Distort the Zone
Screening Concepts
Ball Screen Concepts
Cutting and Filling
Set play actions
Game Film Examples of these concepts will be shown from various teams.
Let’s take at using an alignment how that can distort the zone.
Rick Pitino used a 1-4 Alignment versus Syracuse to make 2 players guard 4 and then dove the opposite post to the block.
How to run Dribble Drive vs. the Zone
In this YouTube video below, I go over how you can use the Dribble Drive Motion offense to attack zones.
I am looking forward to presenting to you some zone concepts to attack any zone.
I will have diagrams and film to show you the various concepts I have seen been observing coaches using to attack zones through my X and O Film Study.
Register for Marc Hart’s Free Clinic on Concepts to attack any zone on Sunday, May 16th at 9 pm EST.
