Does your Point Guard get force to the Sideline?
Tips to counter this for your Drive and Kick offense
Does your team ever struggle with your PG being forced to the sideline or outer third of the court? Are they outmatched skill wise or athletically by their defender. This happens from time to time.
In my latest YouTube Video, I discussed some cuts and spacing ideas to help resolve this. This strategy is becoming more popular versus Dribble Drive Motion and Drive and Space type of teams.
Using the Shallow Cut followed by a brush cut creates the triple gap quickly, and you are back in your drive and kick attack.
Off the push dribble entry, another one I like is a jet cut going from the corner to the opposite slot. It puts X2 in a different helping spot and allows 1 to keep dribble and drive to the basket or reverse. After ball reversal, you can brush cut or pass and cut to get back to a triple gap situation.
