Dribble Drive Motion Offense - Texas WBB
I always observe teams who use Dribble Drive Motion principles since I coach the Dribble Drive Motion Offense and am looking for fresh strategies.
In 2008, when I first started running this strategy, few people were familiar with it. Today, if you turn on the television or go to a local AAU tournament, you will see a team using elements from this approach. They may not necessarily be full-blown DDM teams, but they employ elements or understand what it entails.
So, whether it's with this offensive or any other, you have to continually change. Teams are employing a variety of defensive strategies, including lock left, peel switch, and other strategies.
I have been watching a lot of film of Vic Schaefer and his Texas Women’s team Coach Schaefer has been running the Dribble Drive for a while now.
Some of the concepts he uses our unique where he uses a lot of bounce outs, he plays with two posts on occasions, lots of down up, and over passing concepts.
One of my favorite actions I like from Coach Schaefer is what I call a bounce out.
Where the ball handler didn’t have an advantage so he or she bounces out to the perimeter and swings the ball to get into a triple gap situations to flow back into DDM.
In my lastest video on my System Basketball YouTube Channel I cut up some clips of the Texas WBB team running their Dribble Drive Motion Offense.
