Drive and Space Offense: Fan Series
As you all know I am a big proponent of the Dribble Drive Motion Offense. I have been using it pretty much since 2008 exclusively as my offensive of choice. As with anything in Basketball, it has evolved over the years. Over the past year of hosting clinics, conducting my own clinic s and attending other’s clinics online I have really been studying the Drive and Space Offense and Dribble Drive Motion Offense in more detail.
Two coaches I have really been studying are Nate Oats of Alabama and Doug Novak of Bethel University.
Today, I am going to discuss with you the Fan Series of Doug Novak.
I really like this concept because it puts the help side in a different angle than the traditional Dribble Drive Motion Offense. It creates a double gap but it is started by a guard to guard pass and fan to the wing/corner area. It also allows on the pitch out for the player to drive middle or baseline.
I just recently released a video on the basics of the fan series actions on my Youtube channel. I go over how to incorporate it in the 4 out 1 alignment and 5 out alignment.
