Installing the Dribble Drive Motion Offense
Hello Coaches,
As we are preparing for the 2023-2024 seasons one of the questions I get asked every year is how do you install your drive and kick offense.
This will be my fifth time installing at a new program this year.
Each time I have done it I have done it a little different.
But the main thing I have learned is you need to get to having them play against defense.
The Dribble Drive Motion Offense (DDM) is an organized penetration system that relies heavily on spacing, gaps and decision making.
I just finished my first 4 practices of putting it in.
Here is a little bit of Day 1 of how I teach the penetration reads in the “rack zone.”
The number 1 correction I have made is teaching the offense from the rim out. I use to teach from the elbow in reads.
