Pitch Series for Drive and Kick Teams
Hi Coach,
Happy Dribble Drive Motion Monday, On monday’s I like to share on various social media channels coaching advice, plays, contents on the Dribble Drive Motion.
Today we will be discussing the Pitch Series.
I covered the pitch series and 12 ways to attack out of it in my most recent clinic for the System Basketball All Clinics Membership Members.
When is the Pitch (Kickback) used?
When your point guard is stopped close to the nail area on a middle drive, there are several reasons to employ the pitch series, sometimes known as a kickback. The other primary purpose of is to pass the ball to another playmaker and get some ball movement and player movement.
The diagram is the basics of the pitch action
I presented 10 actions that may be built upon this action in the clinic. You may utilize them as plays or teach them how to read the defense so they can seamlessly transition into the appropriate pitch sequence action.
One of my favorite plays is the pitch get if you have a 4 who is more of a stretch out there on the perimeter.
Depending on how they guard it you can do various actions to counter what the defense is doing which are all taught in this clinic.
