I was watching the A-10 championship game on Sunday and it was between Richmond and Davidson. Richmond is typically a Princeton Offense team that runs primarily the point series.
But late in the game, they changed their strategy after a timeout call where Coach Mooney and his team discussed that they needed to attack the basketball more often. So they went to ghost screens and drive and kick principles.
What is a ghost screen? It’s a fake ball screen after which the would-be screener sprints away into space; a pick-and-pop, but without the pick.
I just made a new video I wanted to share with you on the System Basketball YouTube channel breaking down 3 of the actions they used.
